Job Description: At the direction of the Vice President for Patient Care Services/Chief Nursing Officer, the Perioperative Services Director assumes responsibility for the operations and planning of services for Ambulatory Services, Surgical Services, Pain Clinic, and Infusion Center. This individual has authority, responsibility, and accountability for strategic planning in the above areas. Accountable for the operational success of the department including the provision of safe, cost effective, quality patient care, development of the staff, and stability of financial performance. Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates programs and services that achieve strategic goals. Works in close relationship with the Chief Medical Officer, Department of Surgery Chair, and UVMHN Network leads in the Perioperative space. REQUIRED SKILLS Demonstrated excellence in communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to operate in high-pressure situations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook required Demonstrated effective managerial and administrative leadership of clinical operations. Demonstrated skill in presentation, both oral and written. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: RN with current unencumbered Vermont license. BSN required. Masters degree in nursing, business administration, or related field preferred on hire or obtained within 5 years of hire. Demonstrated clinical competence in all areas of responsibility is also required. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible management with demonstrated leadership/managerial potential which includes interpersonal competence, communication, and excellence in organizational ability is required.
