Position
Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to estimate, recommend, plan and execute the implementation of IBM WebSphere MQ and Message Broker (IIB) software. This position will also participate in activities such as installing, deploying, configuring, testing, and documentation.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Estimates, recommends, plans, and executes implementation of IBM WebSphere MQ and Message Broker software
Provides software application administration, or database administration solutions to clients
Develops technical and conceptual specifications in support of the overall solution
Develops data related files
Configures interfaces to other application systems
Tests middleware environments for performance and usability
Documents completed technical work for clients
Maintains technical specifications throughout a project
Requirements
Position Requirements
Basic Qualifications -
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field
At least two (2) years external or internal consulting background with regular and direct customer interaction
At least four (3) years experience installing and administering WebSphere MQ into Windows and Linux environments
At least three (2) years of experience installing and administering WebSphere Message Broker (WMB) into Windows and Linux environments
Other Position Requirements -
Demonstrated knowledge of WebSphere MQ and IBM Integration Bus (WebSphere Message Broker) cluster setup and configuration
Demonstrated system administration skills required for installation
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot using a variety of resources
Ability to accurately estimate work effort and deliver to that estimate
Ability to assist with the sale of software and services
Demonstrated presentation and communication skills
Preferred Requirements:
Project Management or Business Analysis experience
IBM BPM software installation experience
Experience with software administration on Power platform
DataPower deployment experience
Essential Functions
The position exists to provide technical consulting solutions to customers and as such requires the ability to travel to and from customer sites and interact with customers on an ongoing and regular basis.
