Job Description :
Principle Duties and
Responsibilities:
Moving of furniture, equipment and boxes, including the set-up and break down of rooms for meetings, seminars, residency programs, etc., as well as rearranging of office furniture and equipment.
Grounds
o General grounds maintenance- lawn mowing and general clean up, tree limb removal and trimming
o Snow removal
o Available on off hours in the event of emergencies.
Buildings
o Performs basic maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical and carpentry.
o Limited housecleaning as needed
o Painting
The above job description is not intended to be all-inclusive and the successful candidate will also perform other reasonable related business duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor and other management as required.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following knowledge and skills:
Possess basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical skills
Prefer 1-2 years of prior janitorial/maintenance/grounds keeping experience but will train the right candidate.
Cooperative attitude.
Ability to work alternate hours/schedule to accommodate the needs of VCFA.
Ability to work well under pressure, independently, as well as with others.
Ability to operate equipment including pickup trucks, riding lawnmowers, Bobcat, chain saws.
Ability to use hand tools including picks, shovels, rakes, pliers, hammers, saws, and screwdrivers.
Basic knowledge of housekeeping processes and cleaning equipment such as brooms, mops, vacuums, and cleaning fluids.
Ability to lift and move maintenance equipment, furniture, and other items weighing up to 80 lbs. using appropriate moving equipment
Possess valid driver's license and a clean driving record and be insurable on VCFA's vehicle policy.
Follow all safety guideline and use of proper personal protective equipment as put into practice by DTZ and OSHA.
Must be physically capable of performing tasks associated with buildings, grounds maintenance and operations.
Must be able to analyze, diagnose, and respond to problems as they arise, including calling in the necessary staff to solve more specialized mechanical problems.
Must be able to work effectively in a strong team environment.
Must be able to perform work both inside and outside year round.
Basic knowledge of security processed helpful.EOE/M/F/VET/DisabledEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
